Autoclave Fluid Components are typically manufactured in Cold-Worked 316SS, but are also available in other materials. Autoclave defines all of their parts by both the pressure rating of the part and the connection size (as determined by the OD of the connecting tubing). The connection design depends upon the pressure rating of the component:

bulletLow Pressure (LP): For Valves, Fittings and Tubing at pressures up to 11,500 psi, Autoclave uses their "SpeedBite" connection, which has a compression-type design:

LP components are available in sizes of 1/8", 1/4", 3/8" & 1/2". Please note that within this series, the pressure rating of the components may vary with their size.

bulletMedium Pressure (MP): For Valves, Fittings and Tubing at pressures up to 20,000 psi, Autoclave uses the "Medium Pressure" (a.k.a. "SlimLine") coned-and-threaded connection, as shown below:

MP components are available in the following sizes: 1/4", 3/8", 9/16", 3/4" & 1", and are rated for a 20,000 psi working pressure, regardless of their size.

bulletHigh Pressure (HP): For Valves, Fittings and Tubing at pressures up to 60,000 psi, Autoclave uses the HP coned-and-threaded connection design. As you can see from the illustration below, this design is similar to the medium pressure design:

HP components are available in a variety of sizes and pressure ratings. The most common rating, 60,000 psi, is available in 1/4", 3/8" & 9/16" sizes.

bulletUltra-High Pressure (UHP): For pressures up to 150,000 psi, Autoclave uses a modified version of the high pressure coned-and-threaded connection design. UHP fittings are available only in 5/16".

Autoclave manufactures various products for use in each of the above pressure ranges:

bulletNeedle Valves: These include standard on/off valves for each of the pressure ranges, as well as Miniature valves, Micro-metering valves, Block and Bleed valves, Extreme Temperature valves, Diverter valves, Yoke valves. Various options for these valves are also available.
bulletValve Actuators: Air-to-Open or Air-to-Close actuators can be added to any manually-operated shutoff valve. These are available in piston and Diaphragm designs in several duty ratings.
bulletFittings and Tubing: Including Elbows, Tees, Crosses, pre-cut Nipples, Check Valves, Line Filters and Anti-Vibration Collet/Gland assemblies.
bulletAdapters & Couplings: This category includes Adapters (Male/Female, Male/Male & Specialty), Couplings (Female/Female), Gauge Connectors and Tube Caps. Sizes and pressure ratings are available to meet almost any application requirement.
bulletBall Valves: Includes 2-way, 3-way and 4-way Ball Valves, Ball Valve Actuators and their various options.
bulletRelief Valves: Both soft-seated and metal seated designs are available.
bulletCustom Valves & Manifolds: For use with military-style connections, tube or socket weld connections, butt weld connections and NPT or BSP connections. This section also includes Autoclave's Bottle Valve offerings and Manifold Blocks. Autoclave can also manufacture custom designed valves or valves in exotic materials, if necessary.
bulletAccessories: This category includes Thermocouples, Safety-Heads & Rupture Discs and Pressure Gauges.
bulletSour Service Products: These products include Valves, Fittings and Tubing designed for severe-service applications where sour oil and gas (H2S) may be present.
bulletMetric Series: Valves, Fittings, Tubing, Safety Heads & Rupture Discs, Coning-and-Threading Tools and Pressure gauges, all designed for use in metric piping systems.
bulletInstrumentation Valves
bulletTools, Installation Operation & Maintenance: Manual Coning-and-Threading Tools, Female Cone Seat Reamers, Torque Wrenches, Coning-and-Threading Machine and the Hydraulic Tube Bender are all discussed in this section.
bulletTechnical Information: Includes information on the coned-and-threaded connections, as well as pressure/temperature curves, material vs. pressure ratings, flow calculations, liquid flow curves, conversion tables and pressure vs. bend radius information for Autoclave tubing.
